I pondered a while whether to post today's blog. Finally decided to because this blog is here to share information and encourage religious harmony.
Today is a special Kwan Yin Day so I thought it would be good to share with people who "Kwan Yin" is :)
There are great lessons for us to learn and practise in every religion. Since it is Kwan Yin Day today, let me share with you important lessons related to Kwan Yin. (Beside is a westerner who incorporate Kwan Yin pic in his house decor for peace and harmony. He is not buddhist. (Open mind right?)
One of the Sayings:
Guan Yin make a vow - never rest until she had freed all sentient beings from sufferings. Despite strenuous effort, she realized that still many unhappy beings were yet to be saved. After struggling to comprehend the needs of so many, her head split into eleven pieces. Amitabha Buddha, seeing her plight, gave her eleven heads with which to hear the cries of the suffering. Upon hearing these cries and comprehending them, Avalokitesvara attempted to reach out to all those who needed aid, but found that her two arms shattered into pieces. Once more, Amitabha came to her aid and appointed her a thousand arms with which to aid the many.
The compassion of Kuan Yin can transform us. We learnt the blessing of mercy in the arms of a mother and, with our own eyes and hands, we can help others.
According to research Kwan Yin appears in different forms:
Synodeities: Bast (Egyptian), Artemis (Greek), Sequana (Celtic), Mary (Christian), Tara (Tibetan.)
Kwan Yin's teaching SUGGESTED AFFIRMATIONS:
I forgive. I radiate love. I am tolerant of everyone around me. I have great joy, and therefore great energy. My peace is shared peace. I am weightless and free of burden.
GEMSTONES: Rose quartz, (pink or green stones)
Something to share.

Bryan's personal experience to work with Kwan Yin Pusa Energy :)
Gist: Calming, Loving, Think for others, Compassionate.
Bryan's Scenerio:
A very difficult colleague making things difficult for me. Testing my patience and anger everyday. Everytime I see this colleague, I get very angry..... One day, I read about Kwan Yin's teaching. Suddenly, I see that person as Kwan Yin, just trying to enable me to practise patience and be a better person. From within my heart, I thank this colleague.
Guess what?
I was promoted 1 year later and she became my subordinate. Well, you may wonder did I get back at her and torture her?
No of course not!!! But I am still a human being, I did not treat her very well either...... OOOpppsss. Hahhaa...But I did later because I practised compassion slowly over times.
It does not mean having a religion can change you into a better person overnight.
The main idea is whether you want to make an effort and be mindful to practise what your religion has taught you, not just for the sake of following what others are doing.

Hi Bryan Lao Shi,
I have went to the Kwan Inn Ma and Elephant God(Indian) Temple with drizzle( a light rain) at the Waterloo Street via bus n mrt. I am welcomed by lion dance on my arrival of this indian temple at 10.44am.
I have received blessing fm the Indian priest and donated money for the charity cause. I have drank holy water n eaten one piece of green leave. The priest has applied a dot of red powder on my forehead like a indian lady.
I have taken my lunch at KFC,Bugis with 2 pc meal n a regular cup Root Beer without ice for S$6.70.
Hmmmm it is so delicious to pamper myself in this way. After my lunch, i am welcomed by heavy rainpour and thunder.
This year 2009, i am welcomed by lion dance for the 3rd times. On 31/10, i am practising 5 Element Qi Gong at the Swan Pond. I have attracted 2 fishes at the Swan Pond. I have attended our Bryan Lao Shi's Workshop with 2 Lion Dance performance this year 2009.

Hi Bryan Lao Shi,
First to congratulate you on being invited to WWHEF 2009.
Next is to thank you for sharing experience with your difficult colleague. I am at times disheartened when i still could get pissed by someone or at something or depressed even when i practiced positive affirmations everyday. I wonder why i could not maintain the positivity in me and get affected by negativity. Your story shake me to reality that i'm still a human being. I could still make mistakes. What's important is to stay positive, continue practice and i'll definitely become a better person one day.
Thanks for boosting in me this new rays of confidence.
Cheers =)
Hi bryan, what you have said today set me thinking for the whole day.
It is more like a Philosophy; a way of life rather then a religion and I like that.
Thank you for the sharing.
Teacher, you have been a very good teacher. I am very grateful to you.
Whenever I get angry or upset with some people or even things that have happened, your words will come to my mind. I will tell myself these are my teachers to help me to become somebody better.
When I think of this, all my anger and disappointment subsided.
You taught me to send love and light even to people who are not nice to me.
I did that, it feels most wonderful to forgive and even to the extent of sending them love. This is teaching. I have changed a lot and can be better I know. I learnt a lot from you.
Thank you.
God bless

Me too. When I have to deal with nasty customers, it just spoilt my entire day but i always think of what you said in your blog.
That keeps me going on, taking things in my stride and not let my emotions get the better of me, which i know will, indirectly affects my performance at work.
Very good advise. Thanks
Hi Bryan Lao Shi,

I don't have any religion but enjoy reading your blog.
Your words are very aspiring.
Its more like a way of life just like what somebody has commented earlier.
My colleague introduced me to your blog when I was going through a divorce.
I was at a lost, crying everyday, felt rotten and lost interest in everything.
My work was affected. I beat up my kids for no reasons, blaming them for the reason of my failed marriage.
Although I have never attend any of your workshops yet but reading your blog makes me feel much better. A lot of things in your blog makes me think and reflect.
Now I can understand why my colleague respect you so much.
I truly admire what you are doing.
